Delores F. “Lorey” Hereau (nee Wiganowski), 94, of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Cedar Bay West, in West Bend.
Lorey was born on August 25, 1921, in Plymouth, the daughter of the late William and Magdalina (Fiebrink) Wiganowski. On June 19, 1941, she was united in marriage to Arthur Hereau in Tiffin, Ohio. Arthur preceded Lorey in death on March 9, 1976.
Lorey spent the majority of her life as a dedicated homemaker. Her dogs also were a special part of her life from childhood on. She enjoyed doing crafts as well as making quilts, which included get-togethers with friends. Lorey was known for making doll houses. Her log cabin and Victorian home were popular conversation pieces at her final home in Cedar Bay West.
Those Lorey leaves behind to cherish her memory include her two children; Terry (Carl) Kufahl of West Bend and Robert (Marilyn) Hereau of Baker City, Oregon; six grandchildren, Cheri (Mark) Rusch of West Bend, Bonnie (Bill) Wilke Jr. of Campbellsport, Rick (Alicia) Kufahl of Omro, Heather Zimmerman of Manitowoc, Stacy (Tucker) Jones of Portland, Oregon and Craig (Beka) Hereau of Caldwell, Idaho; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, June Hammen of Sheboygan, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lorey was preceded in death by a brother, Norman (Jean) Wiganowski and a brother-in-law, Clarence Hammen.
A private family service for Lorey will be held at Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home in West Bend on Friday, September 4, 2015. Entombment will follow the service at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Washington County Humane Society are appreciated.
