Lucille A. Steger

Lucille A. Steger, 82, of Lomira, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira, with her family at her side.

Lucille was born on April 20, 1933, in Ashford, the daughter of the late John and Barbara (Welsh) Stoffel. On January 15, 1955, she was united in marriage to Lawrence “Sonny” Steger at St. Martin Catholic Church in Ashford. Lawrence preceded Lucille in death on June 14, 1982.

Lucille was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa and a member of the Miller-Justman-Guelig Post #270 Legion Auxiliary in Theresa. She was employed for many years at Mayville Metal Products. Lucille deeply loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Lucille really enjoyed her favorite dogs throughout the years.

Those Lucille leaves behind to cherish her memory include four children, Jeff (Mary) Steger of Campbellsport, Julie (Don) Steinhauer of Waupun, Jody (Lynn) Steger of Theresa, Jim (Cindy) Steger of Lomira; 14 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Pat Stoffel of West Bend, Betty Steger of Fond du Lac, and Anita Steger of Mayville; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lucille was preceded in death by five brothers, Leo, Alois (Rita), Jerome (Shirley), Raymond (Shirley) and Sylvester (Violet) Stoffel; two sisters, Marcella (Gregor) Beisbier and Laurine (Benno) Simon; two brothers-in-law, Clarence Steger and Merle Steger and a sister-in-law, Betty (Carl) Bandle.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Lucille will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Theresa. Father Tom Biersack will officiate and burial will follow in St. Theresa Memorial Gardens in Theresa.

Lucille’s family will greet relatives and friends at the Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Lucille’s family extends their deepest appreciation to the nurses and staff at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira and Agnesian Hospice for the care provided.
