Tillie didn’t just run a bar, she provided a place for community to meet. Generations of people spent time there. Not many bar owners have both motorcycles and bicycles, walkers and coaster wagons, horses and snowmobiles parked outside their door; but Tillie did. Many of us remember going into her bar with our parents as kids: climbing on the horse tie downs like monkey bars, falling asleep on the wood seat inside, going to the store for a 10 cent candy bar, sitting on that old steel bench in front... Tillie’s wasn’t just a stop on bike runs, it was the destination after ballgames, picnics, weddings and funerals. Who didn’t help celebrate a birthday there? Who doesn’t remember hearing a rock pounding on the bar to a Bob Seger tune or someone doing a burnout on the corner? Tillie had a place that wasn’t fancy. In fact, it didn’t change in years. But without even trying, she provided a place for us to make memories. Thanks Tillie.

Our prayers and heartfelt sympathy to the family. Tillie will be missed by so many who loved her dearly! Her yelling and screaming can still be heard up and down the streets of Beechwood. Elvis better look out because she's looking for you now! So many memories and such great times will be hard to be replaced. A memorial gift will be given in Tillies name to the New Horizon UCC Memorial fund. Her name will always live on in the building on the corner. It's always turn right or left at Tillies. RIP Zena Warrior Princess!

We were honored to know Miss Tillie. Her smile and honesty are very rare in people. I am glad to have known her and have the opportunity to listen to her stories and journey of her life. May you Rest In Peace and know that your strength and advice will be missed. I will also miss your pinches and slap to the back of the head. "whiskey water and NO straw" Much love to you and your loved ones.
