Virginia B. (Lerch) Luethy

Virginia B. Luethy, 98, of South Byron, was called home in her sleep on Monday, October 24, 2016, at Woodland Senior Park in Fond du Lac.

Virginia was born on August 9, 1918, the daughter of the late Walter and Della (nee Pade) Lerch.  She was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Brownsville on August 11, 1918. Virginia attended grade school in Brownsville and graduated from Fond du Lac High School in 1936.  She graduated from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac, now Marian University with a degree in Nursing.  On October 5, 1940, she was united in marriage to Bruno Luethy in the town of Byron.  Virginia worked as an office nurse for Dr. Ries and Dr. Friedrich in Brownsville for many years.

Virginia enjoyed growing up on the farm, gardening, baking sweets and bowling.  She loved to take weekend long trips with Bruno to their cottage for family gatherings at Kettle Moraine Lake.

Virginia was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Brownsville.

Those Virginia leaves behind to cherish her memory include two children, Barbara (Tom) Merriam of Oshkosh and Gregg (Penelope) Luethy of Plymouth; six granddaughters, Nicole (Ed) Kujawa, Kathryn Merriam, Angela (Mark) Buchman, Gretchen Luethy, Sara (Shaun) Andersen and Alyssa Luethy; five great-grandchildren, Dan and Elleanna Kujawa, Ethan and Isaac Buchman and Kira Andersen, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Virginia was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Mirnabell Luethy.

A Funeral Service for Virginia will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016, at Myrhum Patten Miller and Kietzer Funeral Home, 350 Main St., in Lomira.

The Luethy family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
