William C. Schroeder

March 14, 1933 ~ July 31, 2015 (age 82) 82 Years Old

William “Bill” C. Schroeder, age 82, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2015 at The Kathy Hospice, West Bend, with his family by his side.

He was born on March 14, 1933 in West Bend to the late Frederick and Magdalene (nee Weddig) Schroeder, and graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1951.

Bill worked on the Schroeder Dairy Farm which was several generations old, and eventually took over ownership, along with the Schroeder Dairy Milk Plant.  Developing one of the top Holstein herds in the state was a passion of Bill’s and farms from around the world came to purchase some of his stock. Bill also drove school bus for Johnson Bus Service for 25 years. A job he took great pride in, and the children affectionately called him “Grandpa Bill”.

Bill was a huge sports fan and enjoyed golf, fishing, and was a long time member of the Great Lakes Fishing Club. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. He made a special effort to attend all of their events.

He is survived by four children, Bob (Gail) Schroeder, Mary Jo (Kevin) Barrett, both of West Bend, Sharon Hatch of Lodi, and Diane (Gordon) Waddington of Port Washington; 11 grandchildren, Matt (Tracy) Schroeder, Brian (Mindy) Schroeder, Daniel (Ingrid) Schroeder, Joshua (Aimee) Barrett, Jason (Kim) Barrett, Amy (Billy) Cook, John Hatch, Faith Hatch, Jenna Stark, Sarah Stark, and Samantha Stark; eight great-grandchildren, Sam, Drew, Eden, Samuel, Anna, Caleb, Preston, Addisyn, Keziah, Veda, and Easton; other relatives and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the Honorable Fred and Molly Schroeder, a daughter, Susan Schroeder, a grandson, Steven Schroeder, and a brother, John Schroeder.

Funeral services in remembrance of Bill will be held on Wednesday August 5th at 6:30 pm at Community Church ((2005 S. Main Street) West Bend. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 2:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be held in Washington County Memorial Park on Thursday at 10:00 am.

Memorials to the Threshold or Catch a Dream Foundation are appreciated by the family.
