Donna Mae (Adelmeyer) HankeJuly 23, 1947 ~ May 11, 2017 (age 69)
Donna M. Hanke, 69, of Lomira, was called home to be with God on Thursday, May 11, 2017, while at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 23, 1947, in Knowles, the daughter of the late Armond “Jack” and Monica (nee Weber) Adelmeyer and on June 10, 1967, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Hanke at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy.
Donna was very involved in her church and community. She was a long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira where she was a past parish council member, decorating committee member, CCD teacher, and lay minister to mention a few. Donna helped at the local voting polls, food pantry, and was active in the American Red Cross Blood drives. She also was a Cub Scout Den Mother for many years.
Donna loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was a very devoted stay at home “Mimi” and made it to as many of her grandchildren’s events as possible. Mimi always made sure that specific types of ice cream for her grandchildren were in the freezer. Donna enjoyed her early morning walks with her sisters for 30 plus years and summer camping trips to Kohler-Andrae State Park. She and Lloyd also enjoyed traveling together, her favorite trip being the pilgrimage to Italy and Rome with Bishop Hying. In her free time she liked tending to her rock/flower gardens, collecting angels, sewing, knitting, crocheting baby blankets, prayer shawls, and searching for the perfect pair of socks for others. Donna enjoyed giving them to family and friends.
Those Donna leaves behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 50 years, Lloyd; three children, Trevor (Karin) Hanke of Ripon, Thad (Heidi) Hanke of Winneconne, and Troy (Traci) Hanke of Theresa; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Abigail, and Alex Hanke, Isabella, Gwendolyn, and Emmeric Hanke and Matthew, Makenna, and Marshall Hanke; 10 siblings, Kathleen (John) Roth, Stan Adelmeyer, Bonnie (Roger) Karlin, Ron (Inge) Adelmeyer, Jane (Ralph) Langenecker, Ruth (Tom) Mischo, Mark (Darlene) Adelmeyer, Beattle Adelmeyer, Renee (Mike) Batzler, and Pam (Dale) Schwartz; seven sisters-in-law, Wanda Schuh, Sylvia (Delmar) Petri, Eunice Scheberl, Rosemary “Mimi" Washick, Roseanne Polkavich, Angie (Howie) Scheberl, and Darlene Bauer; two brothers-in-law, Eugene (Bernice) Hanke and Dave Hanke, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
