Dorothea Hegbar

Dorothea Hegbar, 100, of West Bend, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018.

She was born on September 1, 1917 in Valley City, ND to the late August and Clara (nee Pollard) Hegbar.  Dorothea attended and earned degrees from Jamestown University in Jamestown, ND and the University of Wisconsin – Madison.  

In 1952 she moved to West Bend and became an English teacher at West Bend High School.  She continued teaching at West Bend East High School until retiring in 1982 after 30 years of teaching.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dr. Howard Rodman Hegbar, and a brother who died in infancy.

A graveside service will be held at Kensal Cemetery in Kensal, ND.

Memorial contributions in Dorothea’s name may be made to the Hegbar Memorial Scholarship Fund at Jamestown University in Jamestown, ND.
