Eiko Olson Obituary

Eiko Olson (nee Morinaga) 82, of Lomira found peace on Saturday, January 12, 2019.

She was born on March 19, 1936 to the late Taroichi and Nobuko(nee Shindo) Morinaga in Korea. She united in marriage to Goodwin F. Olson in Sapporo, Japan on February 18, 1959 and later moved to Stanwood, Washington. In following her passion of caring for the elderly while honoring her Japanese culture, she received her CNA certificate in 1993. She then carried on her career doing private homecare where her most honored position was caring for her mother-in-law, Frances Olson. She then moved to Wisconsin to be closer to her two grandchildren to watch them grow into two beautiful young women. While in Wisconsin she continued her homecare for a family friend, Ralph. Those who had the privilege of knowing Eiko also remember her famous cookies, socks, scarves, hand crocheted table cloths and her loving spirit.

Those Eiko leaves behind to cherish her memory include her four children, Oden (Donna) Olson of Granite Falls, WA., Ruth Olson of Yelm, WA., Eiko Marrese of Lomira, WI., and Todd (Kevin Walder) Olson of Standwood, WA.; two grandchildren, Francesca Marrese and Gabrielle Eiko Marrese; a brother, Minora Morinaga; three nieces, Kumiko Futamata, Akie Kimura, and Yuko Morinaga; a nephew, Manabu Takahashi; along with many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Eiko is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Mitsukoand (Yoshimi) Takahashi, and her dear friend, Angeline Habel.
