Those Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Jean; his children, Kevin (Christine) Buerger, Kayla (Pete) Miller, Jeff (special friend, Carol) Buerger. He will always be remembered as a great Dad. He was an amazing grandpa and great-grandpa to Lindsey (Derek) Bries, Jesse (Ashley) Miller, Zack and Tyler Miller, Allison (special friend, Simon) Buerger, Erin Garza, Hailey Johnston. Great grandpa to Beau Bries and Brooks Miller.

He is further survived by brothers and sisters, Conrad (Audrey) Buerger, Mary Ann (Wally) Betz, LuEllen (Ken) Reimer, Donna Herman, William (Joan) Buerger, Mike (Gladys) Buerger, Dean (Steffanie) Buerger; sister-in-law, Anne (John) Amerling; many wonderful and caring nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
