Clarence F. Janz, 91, of the town of Scott, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the Sharon Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan.
He was born on October 3, 1922, in the town of Barton, the son of the late Jacob and Irma (Groth) Janz, and on May 30, 1946, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Kurtz at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend.
Clarence was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Batavia Fire Department where he served as chief and served as chairman and supervisor for the town of Scott. Clarence was also member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott.
Clarence was a school bus driver for Johnson Bus Company for 22 years and will fondly be remembered as a horseman and a tree planter. He will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him.
Those Clarence leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 68 years, Dorothy; five children, Patricia (Duane) Westphal of Neenah, Steward (Louise) Janz of Fruita, Colorado, Kieth Janz, Dennis (Margie) Janz and Vince (Betty) Janz all of the town of Scott; a son-in-law, Glenn Luedtke of the town of Scott; two sisters, Clara Quaas and Shirley Peters both of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Eleanora Janz of Cedarburg, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by a daughter, Beatrice "Beady" Luedtke; two brothers, Alvin (Norma) and Carroll Janz; two sisters, Hazel (Leonard) Schaefer and Lucille (Elroy) Gatzke and two brothers-in-law, Robert Quaas and Sylvester Peters.
Funeral services for Clarence were held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott. Rev. Kurt Ziemann officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.
The Janz family greeted relatives and friends at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Clarence's arrangements.
