Douglas D. “Doug” White, 89, of the town of Scott, entered eternal life on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Cedar Community in West Bend.
Doug was born on October 31, 1926, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Gordon P. and Clara P. (nee Radke) White. On October 15, 1949, Doug was united in marriage to Marian Backhaus in West Allis.
Doug was employed by Regal Ware for 28 years as a supervisor and chief inspector. He was a member of the 25 year club at Regal Ware as well as the Random Lake American Legion and VFW in Milwaukee. Doug also was a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott where he served as financial secretary for several years.
Those Doug leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 67 years, Marian; four children, Daniel (Jean) White of Fond du Lac, Susan (James) Buechel of Kewaskum, Karen (John) Norman of Cedarburg and Randal White of Texas; 11 grandchildren, Douglas (Kathy) Buechel of Kewaskum, Jeffrey (Melissa) Buechel of Kewaskum, Melissa (Colin) Choby of West Bend, Angela (White) of Saukville, Rachel (Dan) Madsen of Menomonee Falls, Kathryn (Aaron) Fields of Grafton, Jack (Melissa) Norman of Cedarburg, Evan (Melanie) White of West Bend, Christopher White of West Bend, Sean White of Las Vegas and Samantha White of Oostburg; nine great-grandchildren, Bradley and Matthew Buechel, Maddie, Kendall, Isabella and Charlotte Choby, Keagan, Finley and Piper Madsen and Penelope White; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents Doug was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Emery Fields; parents-in-law, Arno and Elda Backhaus; four infant children, Robin, Christina, Bruce and Shawn White; a sister, Sharon Lynch; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Langkabel and Mildred Gerpoltz; seven brothers-in-law, Harold Langkabel, Arthur Gerpolltz, Norbert Zitelsberger, Kenneth Frost, Robert Backhaus, Carl Backhaus and Donald Lynch and nephews Kevin Lynch and Dr. Richard Ondricka.
A funeral service for Doug will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott with Rev. Brian Krueger officiating.
The White family will great relatives and friends at the church on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church are appreciated.
