Jane Barnes Obituary
Jane G. Barnes (nee Schallhorn), 95, of West Bend was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on December 1, 1925, to the late George and Gertrude (nee Kromroy) Schallhorn in Milwaukee, WI. On December 26, 1945, she was united in marriage to William Barnes in Waukesha, WI. Together they raised their 13 children. Jane was a member of Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. In her younger years, she did a lot of modeling of various items. Jane enjoyed traveling and family holidays with the kids. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Those Jane leaves behind to cherish her memory include her 13 children, William Barnes, James “Jim” (Trish) Barnes, Sandy (Kurt) Backhaus, Bob (Cindy) Barnes, Linda Hanson, Sally (JJ) Jaster, Mike (Tracy) Barnes, Patty (Steve) Dye, Susan (Jed) Holfeltz, John Barnes, Laura (Spencer) Mueller, Jeff (Debbie) Barnes, and Nancy (Kip) Wagner; 37 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Bob Schallhorn; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Barnes; son-in-law, Bob Blann; and sister-in-law, Joanne Schallhorn.
A memorial service in remembrance of Jane will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church, 777 Indiana Ave., West Bend.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
Memorial donations in Jane's name can be made to Little Lambs Child Care or to Good Shepherd Tuition Assistance both at 777 Indiana Ave, West Bend, WI 53095.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Horizon Home Care and Hospice for all their help and care.
