Josephine J. Schiek

   Josephine J. Schiek, 77, of the town of Scott, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.

   She was born on August 16, 1937, in Holdingford, Minnesota, the daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Pyka) Symalla, and on October 14, 1967, she was united in marriage to Norbert Schiek in St. Paul, Minnesota.

   Josephine was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michaels. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, doing crossword puzzles and her I-Pad. She will be deeply missed by her husband, her family and by all who knew her.

   Those Josephine leaves behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 47 years, Norbert; three children, Pamela M. Schiek of Oostburg, Norbert G. (Clarissa) Schiek of Cedarburg and Bryan (Bridgette) Schiek of Wauwatosa; six grandchildren, Nathan, Anissa, Bella, Zoe, Logan and Maya Schiek; two brothers, Leo Symalla of Holdingford, Minnesota and Al Symalla of Burtrum, Minnesota; a sister, Judith (Dick) Studer of Avon, Minnesota, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

   In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph "Irish" Symalla.

   A Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine was held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michaels. Father Edwin Kornath officiated and cremation followed the traditional service. Burial of her cremains were in the parish cemetery.

   Josephine's family greeted relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.

   The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Josephine's arrangements.
