Karen J. (Frey) Drescher

On Monday, October 3, 2022, Karen Jean Drescher (nee Frey), loving mother of 2 sons, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, passed away at the age of 75.

Karen was born on July 24, 1947 in Marshfield Wisconsin to Roland and Maryluretta (nee Owens) Frey. She received her Hair Stylist License after attending college in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She opened her own salon in Slinger, Wisconsin under the name "Karen's Hair Korner". Her shop was painted with red and white colors and decorated with hearts. Every customer was greeted with a hug and an outpouring of love because that is who she was - a loving person who cared about people. She spent most of her personal time attending local events and festivals - Summerfest, State Fair, Italian Fest, and Slinger Speedway were her favorites. Her nickname was “Bubbles” which was given to her by her friends because of her bubbly personality. Her stories and laugh will be missed by all who knew her.

Those Karen leaves behind to cherish her memory include her son, Jerry (Kari) Drescher; three brothers, Dennis (Tammy) Frey, Darwin Frey and Mark (Chris) Frey; two sisters, Verlea Wein, Debbie Carrington, brother-in-law, Dennis Mueller; three grandchildren, Jordyn (Michael) Jones, Kayla (Breon) Bogan, and Ryan Drescher; three great-grandchildren, Cyrus Jones, Solomon Jones, and Kingston Jones, with number four on the way, Davina Bogan; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Maryluretta; her son, Jeffrey Drescher; twin sister, Sharon Mueller; sister-in-law, Joanne Frey; and brother-in-law, Mike Carrington.

Karen’s family will greet relatives and friends at Myrhum – Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, 1315 W. Washington Street, in West Bend on Friday October 21, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 1:00 p.m.
