Lynes W. "Fezz" Fellenz

Lynes W. “Fezz” Fellenz, 90, of Beechwood, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015, at Beechwood Rest Home.

He was born on September 4, 1925, in Beechwood, the son of the late Peter and Martha (Siegfried) Fellenz. On July 10, 1948, he was united in marriage to Marion Hintz at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott. Marion preceded Lynes in death on November 5, 2009.

Lynes was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott serving on various committees and holding multiple offices. He worked at Harnischfeger Homes and at Bolens in Port Washington for most of his career and had many jobs throughout. Lynes enjoyed going on vacations and fishing trips up north and traveling to various locations throughout the U.S. with friends and relatives. Lynes and Marion were members of a card club for over 50 years playing sheepshead with their friends.

Lynes also liked playing dartball and softball and was an original member of the Beechwood Softball team for many years. Lynes was as an active member of the Beechwood Fire Department for 27 years and a retired lifetime member. He liked watching Wisconsin’s sports teams, especially the Packers and Brewers. Lynes proudly served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II, entering into service on December 7, 1943 and serving until November of 1945.

Those Lynes leaves behind to cherish his memory include his son, Robert Fellenz of Beechwood; a sister-in-law, Marie Hintz of Random Lake; his nieces and nephews, Ronald Hintz, Susan Helminger, Jane (Frank) King, James (Jane) Fellenz and David (Tammy) Fellenz, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Lynes was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a brother, Gordon (Betty) Fellenz; a brother-in-law, Ralph Hintz; a nephew, Jim Helminger;

Funeral services for Lynes will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott.

Lynes’ family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Rev. Joseph Fisher will officiate and burial with Military Honor Rites will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
