I have known David Opperman for 40 years. As his life drew to a close I pondered a word that described my perception of this very special man. The word that kept coming back to me was Love" That may seem to be a strnge word to describe a "guy'a guy" like David. However the dictionary defines love as "an unselfish and benevolent concern for others. First I think of his tremendous love for Bonnie, then his love for his children and grandchildren. Then I think of his love of friends,(who are numerous) Green Bay Packer football, hunting, fishinh in(warm or cold weather),being in Rinelander in his wonderfuly welcoming cottage.cards, a good laugh, and many oother things. What a wonderful thing to be able to sa y I was a friend of David Opperman. He besssed and enriched our lives. He will never be .forgotton.

Dear Bonnie and Family ! So very sorry of your loss, the first time I met Dave was at your Parents house in Kewaskum , all the old gang came over to see Cherie and you were there waiting for Dave ! All of us waited with you, obviously you were not happy with his tardiness but as soon as he walked in the door I remember you showed great patience over the matter ! Over the many years you have been a caregiver to your parents and I'm sure many more ! Mike and I pray for all of you, may God be with you !

Jean and I wish to pass on our sincere condolences to Bonnie and family. The "obit" on Dave says it all. Enjoyed working with Dave at West Bend for over 35 years. We worked together and retired together. Dave retired North and we chose the Southern route to Florida. Many a cocktail was honored on behalf of the Kewaskum/Random Lake ties of our earlier years. We won't ever forget those precious moments.
