I watched the video with tears in my eyes. Your father was a wonderful man and raised a beautiful family instilling the traits in his children that made him the man he was. The memorial service was a tribute to a life well lived. Godspeed John.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle John. I last spoke to him when he called Grandma, his sister Frances, to check on her right before she passed. Glad I had that opportunity to talk to him and say I love you. I always loved to visit with him when he would come back to Detroit to visit. It was fun to watch Grandma and Aunt Marg laugh with their baby brother. He was a great man.

Uncle John was everyone's favorite uncle. He was always kind and friendly and thoughtful. We all looked forward to his visits. He would bring my brothers and me white sailor caps. We would wear them all around our neighborhood. I remember the time I was struggling with learning long division. He worked with me at the desk in the back bedroom of our house on Westphalia until I finally got it. I am glad that he was able to attend our family reunion. I always enjoyed our conversations. I wish I had spent more time with him.
