Welcome to the memorial page for

Linda "Lin" (Furger) Griffin

December 1, 1958 ~ August 12, 2015 (age 56) 56 Years Old

Linda L. “Lin” Griffin, (nee Furger), age 56 of West Bend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 12, 2015 at The Kathy Hospice after a short battle with cancer.

She was born on December 1, 1958 in West Bend to the late Edward and Kathryn (nee Mrazik) Furger, and graduated from West Bend East High School in the class of 1977. She then attended Fox Valley Technical College in Oshkosh earning a degree in special education.

Lin was truly a Jack of all Trades. Over the years, she taught children with special needs at McLane and Decorah Schools and was the co-owner of Slinger Dairy Queen. Always caring for others, she achieved her CNA designation from Bryant & Stratton University and was the office manager of Griffin Law Center.

She found joy in hard work. She volunteered for Holy Angels, The American Cancer Society, The Alzheimer's Research Center -U.W.Madison, Rotary Inner Wheel and The Honor Flight. She often quietly donated her time, talent and treasure without recognition. Lin was always up for anything adventurous or fun! She loved to travel and was an avid Marquette Basketball fan! She brought color to the world...she could light up a room!

Her busy hands almost had a life of their own. She was always trying new projects and crafts. She found a life passion and some of her best life friends in scrap booking. Who knew that it was going to be so important for her life to be well documented for her sons?

Her boys were her life! She ran the Kool-Aid house on the block. She was the neighborhood Madre and if the friends came over, her den was always open for business!

Lin married Pat Griffin in 1990. Pat passed away suddenly two years ago. She missed her “Bear” but knew that life had to move on. A year later she was introduced to her Soul Mate in Training, Richard. Armed with her courageous spirit, Richard and her boys, she was ready to enter her “Happily ever After” but her fairy tale was cut short. Now the happy ending will have to be carried out by those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her dear sons, Cole and Jimmy; additionally, she leaves behind her special Richard; sister Nancy (Jerry) Mehring; brother Gary (Peggy) Furger; Sisters-in-law, Mary (Stuart) Carlson, and Megan (Mike) Welsh; nieces and nephews, Pat Mehring, Jeff (Tamio) Mehring, Robb(Ayumi) Mehring, Shannon (Jeff ) McDowell, Michael Furger, Adam (Kara) Furger, Monique Furger, Maggie (Erik) Henke, Amy Griffin, Caitlin (Eric) Jahnke, Bridget (Jayson) Morales, Brendan (Catreese) Carlson, Annie Welsh and Colleen Welsh; She also leaves numerous friends, and her pup Sadie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat on Feb. 18, 2013; parents, Kathryn and Edward Furger; brother, Jimmy Furger, parents-in-law, Anne and Coley Griffin; brothers-in-law, Kevin and Mike Griffin.

She was deeply loved. She will be greatly missed.
