Neal J. Lechner, age 87, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday June 24, 2015 at his home.
He was born on January 1, 1928 in Phelps to the late Edward and Gladys (nee Crass) Lechner, and graduated from Phelps High School in the class of 1946.
On September 3, 1949 Neal was united in marriage to Margaret Wyant at Congregational Church in Eagle River. Together they made their home and raised their family in West Bend.
Neal worked at the West Bend Company for 36 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and the West Bend Company 25 year club. Neal was a huge sports fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two children, William (Teresa) Lechner of Sun Prairie, and Pat (Peter) Schloemer of West Bend; three grandchildren, Brad Schloemer, Matthew (Terry) Lechner, and Jennifer Schloemer; twin great-grandsons, Logan & Lucas Lechner; a sister, Edna Steinert of Kewaskum; other relatives and friends.
A graveside service in remembrance of Neal will be held on Monday June 29th at 11:00 am in Washington County Memorial Park. Rev. David Schoob will officiate.
