Terri was a year behind me at JMM. We both played in the Symphonic and Jazz bands, and sang in choir. I took her flying once when she gave me a ride from the Dodgeville airport to our choir party. She loved flying, just as she seemed to love everything in life and everybody she was around. Her smile was astounding. My memories of her indelible.

Rest in peace to one of the favorite people of my childhood, one of the few teachers who understood me, the one who taught us so many classic folk songs. Fare thee well! "Mrs. B" always did these end-of-year music class awards for her elementary school students. Best progress, strongest voice, that sort of thing. She awarded me - an extremely hyperactive, constantly talking kid - the Big Mouth Award (an award I suspect she may have created just for me). Now, that might at first sound mean to some, as if she were mocking or shaming me. She was not at all. I knew even then what she meant: you are loud, talkative, and need to learn to channel it, sure, but don't you ever lose it. You be you, and it'll be a strength. Stay fun. Be proud. Keep singing loud! It makes me a little sad that a teacher probably wouldn't give such an award today, since it would be misunderstood. She was the first and perhaps only teacher to really SEE me. And don't you know, my behavior was better for her than for most because of it ... though I'm sure I still frustrated her often! She made a true, real difference in my life. I wish I'd told her this before she was gone. I hope she knew. Condolences to all members of the family.

As I knew her first, Mrs. Bertleson, the music teacher. She taught us how to musically keep time with fun things such as wood sticks, maracas and tambourines. I remember her old music room so clearly at Random Lake. It later changed to choreography and such with swing choir and musicals. She even taught me to tap dance along with the help of Mr. Sampson for Anything Goes. A great time was had by all in those high school musicals. She had a smile that lit up the room, and I bet God greeted that smile with open arms. Prayers and sympathy for her family.

I was saddened to hear of Mrs. Tybring's passing. She was my music teacher all through elementary and middle school, and she was so good at what she did. I remember her very clearly as an upbeat and cherrie person who did what she loved for a living...even that was apparent to me as a child. She will be missed and remembered always.

Our sons had the pleasure of having Mrs. Tybring as their teacher and musical director while students at Random Lake. Terri instilled a love of music and performing in both of them. Sixth grade plays, The Ram Express, and all of the high school musicals left us with fond memories of Terri. Bill and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To Terri's family,
These last several days I have had the privilege of reading posts left by such an array of people who also knew and loved Terri. The reach of her love is inconceivable. The lives she has touched make our Father's heart so very full. She was truly a servant of God in every way imaginable. She will be missed, but she has filled so many hearts she is never far away.

"Mrs. B" was an inspiration to me and so many others at Random Lake schools. I still remember the day in 2nd grade when the "new" music teacher came to our room pushing her olive green keyboard. That that memory is so prominent in mine - even 37 years later - is a testament to how important she was to my school career. I can not imagine what my school life would have been without her because most of my school activities centered on music. She was always there and pushed me to excel. She gave me confidence in myself and I will never forget her. My deepest condolences to her family.
